Harlow’s progression – Two months on

Good day!

Hola!

I hope you’re doing well and are enjoying the new year so far! Flying by isn’t it? It’s crazy to think that two months ago, I was screaming my head off and breaking my dads hand in the process of pushing a beautiful baby out of me. I honestly now don’t even remember being pregnant, and come to think of it, it wasn’t that long ago! I also don’t remember what it’s like to sleep, eat (and taste) a decent meal or have a full days energy. I’m now a sleep deprived, starving mum, who is living off coffee and has to remember that I’m not auditioning for a part in a new zombie film. I can’t complain though, I have a beautiful daughter who brightens up each of my days.

Harlow-Rae. My little terror. You’re two months old ALREADY! It’s quite funny because I was talking to my Dad about how mums are always like ‘slow down’, ‘I wish they were baby’s again’, ‘where has my baby gone?’. Yes, she’s lovely as she is, but I can’t wait until she’s old enough to eat proper foods, has an attitude, and doesn’t have a problem (excuse the language) shitting. Right now, it’s a horror watching her struggle to do something I, as an adult, find so easy and natural.

So, Harlow never fails to make me smile at how clever she is. Even at such the young age of 2 weeks old, Harlow has been bearing weight on her legs. I didn’t know whether it was right to let her, but after speaking to my health visitor, it’s good to encourage any matter of strength. Since then, Harlow’s legs are getting stronger and stronger – she’ll definitely be a dancer or rugby player!

Not only that, but she actually NEARLY slept through the night at one point this month, which was well deserved and needed.

Harlow ALSO found her smile, and I’m greeted with it every single morning. It melts me each and every day.

I am so lucky and I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings for my little girl and myself.

Emily
