When you have a baby, no matter how young they are, you start in envision their future. You obviously only want the best for them. I thought I’d share what I want for Harlow, and what I’m looking forward to.
I can’t wait for her first smiles and first laughs, when she says her first word and takes her first walk. I’m excited for all the typical things every parent is excited for, but I’m excited just like a 5 year old is excited for Christmas (the word excited has now lost its meaning). It’s when she starts to feed herself, and learn to walk. Not only that but I’m excited for when she starts school and tells me about her day and what she learnt. I’m so excited to just be there, and to appreciate each milestone she goes through. Although, at the moment, I’m very much enjoying her being 3 weeks old.
What do I wish for Harlow as and when she grows older?
I want her to know that no matter how she feels, what she does, or where she decides to go in her life, I will always be there for her. I will love her unconditionally and no matter what. I wish that she’s able to speak to me about anything and everything; big or small, and I want her to know that no matter what happens, we will get through it together. Not only that but I will tell her every single day that I love her, and that I believe in everything she does. I wish for her to know that she can achieve whatever she puts her mind to. I wish her happiness and contentment.
I won’t be overpowering as she grows older because there are certain things she needs to learn herself, but I won’t just stand on the outskirts if she needs me. I will genuinely always be there for her, from now until the day I leave this Earth.
Harlow, if you ever read this; you’re my best friend, and you have been since the day you were born. You go girl!
